PROMPTING FOR THE SALT AND PEPPER FEST IS OPEN CLOSED!

Before you run off to leave us all your fab prompts, please check out the general rules for this fest and the prompting guidelines below!

Prompt Guidelines

1. Anyone can leave a prompt regardless of whether or not you're planning on claiming one. Submitting a prompt doesn't commit you to anything.

2. You can leave up to five prompts. Prompts can be in the same comment or listed separately.

3. Prompts must be relevant to the theme of this community - any canon character at 50+. (i.e. a prompt focusing on Harry as a young parent would not fit.)

4. That said, we want all sorts of prompts! Fluffy, angsty, light or dark, gen, slash, femslash, het, threesome/moresome, character studies, mysteries, drama, comedy--anything goes!

5. Keep in mind that this is not a gift exchange. Your name will not be listed with your prompt in the claiming stage or when the fest is posting. Claimers will also be able to deviate from the prompt if their muse goes in a different direction (switch out characters, go with a different overall tone, etc.)

6. Prompts may be edited for clarity.

7. Prompting is open now until the end of Sat, Nov 15th (midnight, EST). We'll edit this post when prompting is closed.

Brief explanation of the form:

Prompt: Can be as simple (word, phrase, song lyric) or as specific as you like. Please do not outline an entire plot, however. :D
Suggested Characters/Pairings: This is optional and can be left blank if you'd like!
Theme/Tone: Fluffy, angsty, etc. The overall mood. Also can be left blank if you'd like!
Additional Info: Here you can leave likes, dislikes, squicks, or anything else that doesn't fit above, but keep in mind that as this is not a gift, creators will not be required to stick strictly to these things. Also optional and can be left blank if you'd like!

Prompt: A and B have been together for decades. What happens when one of them becomes desperately attracted to a younger man? I'd love to see them negotiating their way to a threesome. Maybe character B just wants to watch while A enjoys himself with C, or maybe they share the new partner.
Suggested Characters/Pairings: Harry/Draco, plus younger man - Teddy? An OC?
Theme/Tone: Hot, romantic, mildly angsty but all is ultimately resolved by healing cock? ;-)
Additional Info: Happy ending, please, for all 3 characters, without long term destructive jealousy. I'm happy with some infidelity, but would rather it was brief and resulted in guilt and working things through, rather than long term deceit.

(MODS, is this OK? The two main characters are over 50, but the third isn't. Just LMK if it's against the rules.)

Honestly, gut reaction here, is that it depends on how the person creating interprets it. The main characters have to be over 50 which would be Harry and Draco really unless it really centers around Teddy as well, so much that he is also considered a main character, in which case, he'd likely be too young. And if it turns into kinda youth!worship that's what we're trying to avoid.

Now, for Harry and Draco to be 50, Teddy's already in his early 30's. So if the creator bumped it up so Teddy was around 40, with Draco and Harry 58 or so, I think we could accept that. Yes, he's younger than 50 but hardly a 22-year-old boy toy.

It's up to you whether you want to keep the prompt as is (though we would likely make a note somewhere on it about the age issue), resubmit it with those thoughts in mind, or just come up with something else entirely.

Probably would have been better if I just said yes or no. :P

No, I completely understand, and I appreciate that you're taking it on a case by case basis. I think the prompt as it stands most likely WOULD become a youth worship thing, and that's partly the dynamic that appealed to me, if I'm honest, so I think I'll change it slightly to be a general threesome prompt. But now you've replied to my comment, I can't edit it. So what do we do now? LOL

ROFL How about you take what you need from it and repost a new comment and I can either delete the whole thing or we can leave the conversation (to remind people what the goal is here) but just not use that prompt.

Honestly, it *is* a great prompt (as was the one I left that also was wrong for the fest LMAO *head desk*). Have you signed up for hp_3somes? That would be brilliant for it. ;)

I was so tempted by hp_3somes, but there are so few combinations of characters that I would feel comfortable writing, I thought it was a disaster writing my first 3some for an exchange fest. I look forward to reading the fics, though.

I am interested in the hp_goldenage comm philosophy, now. I understand the focus on older characters, which I love the idea of. However, speaking personally, as an older person, topics such as worship of youth, the contrast of age and youth, and coming to terms with how I feel about both that and my own sexuality in comparison, is an interesting part of my life. It seems a shame not to be able to explore that in a fic here - but I completely respect whatever it is you're aiming for at the fest. Just intrigued, really, rather than trying to change your minds ;)

The simplest answer I have is I guess I'm trying to look at the comm as different from a crossgen one. There I can see focusing on age differences, being attracted to much older/younger partners and what that means to both parties.

Which isn't to say we won't have crossgen relationships here, as you can see there are prompts for that, but the focus is more on the aging part. Whether it's aging gracefully or kicking and screaming doesn't matter.

Yes, I can see your point. I think I was just trying to shoehorn one of my favourite kinks (age disparity) in, but I see it's not the right place.

I think my threesome prompt can still work. I'll set to.

I think you can use age disparity. Remember that wizards live far, far longer than Muggles, and there is only 18 years difference between HArry and DRaco and Teddy. So, when Harry and Draco are, say, in their late 60's, Teddy would be 50.

For some perspective, Patrick Stewart is now 74. Not too old at all for some hot sex and romance.
