PROMPTING FOR THE SALT AND PEPPER FEST IS OPEN CLOSED!

Before you run off to leave us all your fab prompts, please check out the general rules for this fest and the prompting guidelines below!

Prompt Guidelines

1. Anyone can leave a prompt regardless of whether or not you're planning on claiming one. Submitting a prompt doesn't commit you to anything.

2. You can leave up to seven prompts. Prompts can be in the same comment or listed separately.

3. Prompts must be relevant to the theme of this community - any canon character at 50+. (i.e. a prompt focusing on Harry as a young parent would not fit.)

4. That said, we want all sorts of prompts! Fluffy, angsty, light or dark, gen, slash, femslash, het, threesome/moresome, character studies, mysteries, drama, comedy--anything goes!

5. Keep in mind that this is not a gift exchange. Your name will not be listed with your prompt in the claiming stage or when the fest is posting. Claimers will also be able to deviate from the prompt if their muse goes in a different direction (switch out characters, go with a different overall tone, etc.)

6. Prompts may be edited for clarity.

7. Prompting is open now until the end of Saturday, Nov 17th (midnight, EST). We'll edit this post when prompting is closed.

Brief explanation of the form:

Prompt: Can be as simple (word, phrase, song lyric) or as specific as you like. Please do not outline an entire plot, however. :D
Suggested Characters/Pairings: This is optional and can be left blank if you'd like!
Theme/Tone: Fluffy, angsty, etc. The overall mood. Also can be left blank if you'd like!
Additional Info: Here you can leave likes, dislikes, squicks, or anything else that doesn't fit above, but keep in mind that as this is not a gift, creators will not be required to stick strictly to these things. Also optional and can be left blank if you'd like!

Prompt: LGBT Activism then and now. Choosing a moment / event or movement that inspires you, Muggle or something with a magical spin, two characters reminisce about their activist past, and present.
Suggested Characters/Pairings: Any combination of older Hogwarts staff women, e.g. Minerva/Poppy, Minerva/Wilhelmina, Minerva/Hooch.
Theme/Tone: Proud. Celebratory. Nostalgic.
Additional Info: None.

Prompt: Never too old for your first same-sex experience.
Suggested Characters/Pairings: Harry/Draco, Harry/Severus, Harry/Charlie, Harry/Bill, Harry/Remus
Theme/Tone: Discovering identity later in life.
Additional Info: Preference for Harry being the one who realises what he wants and goes for it.

Prompt: "When the skies are looking bad my dear, and your heart's lost all its hope, after dawn there will be sunshine, and all the dust will go. The skies will clear my darling, now it's time for you to let go" (Lucy Spraggan, Tea and Toast)
Suggested Characters/Pairings: Molly Weasley/Arthur Weasley, Weasley family, Harry.
Theme/Tone: Major Character Death. Family pulling together. Sad but happy about a life well lived.
Additional Info: None.

Prompt: "Sucking on a bottle of Jim Beam wishing it was you" (K-Flay, Wishing it Was You)
Suggested Characters/Pairings: Lucius Malfoy. Suggest past Lucius Malfoy/Severus Snape and present Harry Potter/Severus Snape
Theme/Tone: Bitterness and regret. Angst.
Additional Info: Snarry through the eyes of Lucius Malfoy (i.e. past Lucius/Severus, present Harry/Severus).

Prompt: After years of feeling uncomfortable in their own skin, in a changing world they can finally live as their true selves.
Suggested Characters/Pairings: Wilhelmina Grubbly-Plank, Millicent Bulstrode, Teddy Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks. If you have another idea though, please go for it. Open to any pairings but also happy with non-ship fic.
Theme/Tone: Exploration of coming out as trans later in life.
Additional Info: Nope!

Prompt: Bisexual awakening. Hermione has always been fascinated by an older female mentor, but it's just an intellectual interest. Isn't it?
Suggested Characters/Pairings: Hermione/any older female character.
Theme/Tone: Queer awakening. Coming out. Same-sex exploration. Sexy, happy.
Additional Info: None.

Prompt: They spent so long pretending it was 'just friends who fuck' and needed their space which stretched into years apart. Now they're back again, right where they first began.
Suggested Characters/Pairings: Harry Potter/Charlie Weasley, Harry Potter/George Weasley, Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter/Blaise Zabini, Teddy Lupin/James Sirius, any femslash pairing of Trio gen or up (cross-gen is fine).
Theme/Tone: Breaking up and making up.
