We are a community that celebrates Harry Potter characters above the age of 50.


If you like a little silver around the temples, a softness around the belly, the wisdom (and sometimes stubborness!) that comes with experience and age, and the wrinkles too, this is the place for you!

Any characters/pairings that satisfy the age requirement are permitted. Whether they appeared 50+ in canon or not, as long as they meet the age requirements in your fanworks, they are welcome here! Sirius Black at 100, Hermione Granger at 75 or Albus Dumbledore at 50—just to name a few!

We welcome multiple pairings, moresomes, het, slash, femslash, or gen. Crossovers, premature aging, AU/AR? Bring it on! We welcome cross-generational relationships as well. We love cross-gen! But please note the younger party must satisfy the age requirement as well. For example, with the pairing of Minerva McGonagall/Severus Snape, Severus must be at least 50. If your fanwork focuses on Sirius/Harry or Charlie/Draco or Poppy/Hermione the same rules apply: both characters must be 50+.

You absolutely may, yes. Please do. Posting an older piece on occasion would be fine. In fact, that's what I did on day one. LOL I would prefer no one repost their entire archive of applicable works all at once, however.

As the comm grows, we'd like to see more current pieces (reposts/links from fests or one-shots), I want to collect some recs as well, and there is even rumbling about trying to do a fest ourselves at some point.

Question: I have loads of fics to rec, but some feature the main characters at various points in their lives. Are these acceptable as long as a significant portion of the fic (say, 50% or more) focuses on the over-50 part of their lives?

I think that sounds like a good rule of thumb. It makes sense that some fics will cover a larger time frame. Perhaps just make a note on the rec. Thanks for asking!

I would say if the main pairing, main characters are over 50, it's fine. Of course there will be kids and grandkids running around! That's encouraged, but, for example, having a fic where Scorpius and Teddy are the main pairing, but are in their 20's and it just happens to have their parents in it (in their 50's), that belongs somewhere else.

If the main pairing is Neville and Draco in their 50's or 60's, and their grandkids are around... no problem there. ^_^
