Date: 2019-11-05 11:19 pm (UTC)Suggested Characters/Pairings: Arthur/Molly
Additional Info: Do we get to see them going wild? reminiscing about all of the close calls while they luxuriate in finally being able to take it slow in every room? giving an eyeful to some/all of their offspring and families who stop by for a surprise visit?
Prompt: A couple makes love for the last time.
Suggested Characters/Pairings: I enjoy the characters on the periphery, but a good Severus/Hermione would fit well, too.
Additional Info: Is it the last time because one (or both) of them dies? because one of them gets injured or becomes impotent? because one of them is developing dementia or has a degenerative disease? Do they know it’s the last time, or is that only revealed later?
Prompt: It’s taken decades, but George finally finds someone who’s willing to share him with a ghost.
Suggested Characters/Pairings: I’m partial to Millicent being strong enough not to be a neglected third wheel but enough of a damaged character herself to know better than to try to evict Fred from their marriage.
Theme/Tone: angsty but hopeful?
Additional Info: a relationship that looks dysfunctional from the outside, but the view from within is quite another story
Prompt: someone is 50+ and entering the first romantic relationship of their lives
Suggested Characters/Pairings: Argus Filch? Dennis Creevey? Irma Pince? Gregory Goyle? Millicent Bulstrode? Filius Flitwick? Dudley Dursley? Stan Shunpike? Pomona Sprout? someone else?
Theme/Tone: anything but crack
Additional Info: It’d be nice for it not to be AU, so anyone for whom there is no canonical evidence of a romantic relationship before the age of 50. Give the underloved characters some attention!
Prompt: the effects of aging on magical tattoos
Suggested Characters/Pairings: Charlie Weasley? someone totally unexpected? (Maybe Molly or Minerva has one? or Argus? Neville? Maybe Severus has something besides the Dark Mark embedded in his skin?)
Additional Info: I’d adore an exploration of the magic and/or science behind magical tattoos.
Prompt: Dudley stuck with boxing after Smeltings. He wasn’t anything amazing, but he had a moderately successful career. Now he’s 50 or 60, and the consequences of getting bashed around for years are starting to impinge on his daily life (not only the physical things like wear and tear on the body, but also the neurological, like chronic traumatic encephalopathy).
Suggested Characters/Pairings: Dudley Dursley
Theme/Tone: angsty but hopeful
Additional Info: This could be gen, but I kind of like the idea of some sort of relationship, too. Maybe he has a wife, and they have to negotiate his decline together. Maybe he’s an old bachelor trying to manage these things alone, and a romantic interest stumbles into his life at (what he imagines to be) the worst moment possible.
Prompt: Unbeknownst to the wizarding world, Snape didn’t die in DH. Instead, he lost his magic, and in the process gained a Muggle’s lifespan and age phenotype. He disappeared into Muggle London. Several decades later, a previous acquaintance bumps into a frail old man. . . .
Suggested Characters/Pairings: Severus Snape; could be gen, or could take a romantic turn (I fancy Millicent in that role, but perhaps that’s just me.)
Theme/Tone: anything but crack
