The long-life thing is fascinating to me. Wizards have the opportunity for multiple careers, for instance. Arthur may be a civil servant at the end of the books, but with all the kids out of the house, what happens next? Maybe he decides he wants to make brooms or magical toasters or something. He's got plenty of time.
